Get Nerdy!

When I first moved to Wisconsin, I worked at Walgreens with a really sweet girl named Jennalee.  She moved, I quit to go to school, but we always stayed "connected".  I love her to death!  She is so much fun and such a positive person to be around.
She has a website/blog called "getmyhandsnerdy" and features all kinds of amazing advice/reviews/etc on makeup, beauty products, and I can't forget, NAIL POLISH :)
Anyone who knows me, knows I am not a big make-up person.  But I love to read her blog.  I love the way she writes.  And it's not all about makeup.  She tests/reviews a lot of various beauty products, moisturizers, etc.
Please take a minute and check out her blog here, become a follower, or if you prefer, look her up on Facebook (click here).
You won't be sorry!

Tuna Mignon

Yesterday we had to go to Newport, which is about 30 minutes south of us.  We always have a dilemma of where to eat, as our two favorite places (Local Ocean and Nana's Irish Pub) are there.  Since we had quite a few errands to run, we decided to go to Local Ocean right when we got to town.  Local Ocean is located right on the bayfront and they are one of two restaurants that are allowed to buy their fish right off the boats there in the bay.
We shared their soup of the day, which was Hot and Sour Prawns.  It was very herb-y, light and refreshing.  We shared the Tuna Mignon for our entree.  WOW!  I can honestly say this is the first time I have had fresh tuna and I was blown away.  I was a little skeptical about eating a piece of fish cooked "medium rare" but it was amazing!

We also had to share an order of fries.  They have amazing fries as well.

After running errands, we ended the day at Nana's Irish Pub.  We had our usual Strongbow ciders, their signature hot chicken bites, Emerald Isle fries, and I had the Salmon spread.
Despite the rain and wind, we had a lovely day with lots of laughs!

A seriously gorgeous day

We were blessed with an absolutely gorgeous day!  Makes having to work seven days straight and then only getting one day off, a little easier to stomach.

We took a walk on the beach this morning after we woke up.  The waves were breaking so big and so close to the shore.  I could have spent all day wandering....

Things have been pretty crazy at work but I have still managed to get some more crochet work done.  I absolutely LOVE these pocket scarves!  So handy when you need to just run to the store - phone in one pocket, debit card in the other pocket....  I am working on making more with different colors and textures, but these are the three I have done so far:
