My (new) Husband

Skott is seriously the best!  What guy would tolerate two hyper, giggly sisters for three days?  And better yet, he let us have some "fun" before his big event.

Skott has been toying with the idea of shaving his head for several months now due to the fact that his hair refuses to remain attached to his scalp in an even manner.  He was worried about shaving, since the last time he had his head shaved was in the Army and he was worried about funny lumps and bumps:

Since Josie was coming for the concert, he decided to take the plunge while she was here so she could help him (she is a stylist, after all).  With the help of some clippers, and a few glasses of wine, here is what we came up with:
"Steps"
(in all fairness, the giant empty spot is a scar and has nothing
to do with our artistic talents! haha)
"Lightning Bolt" and an attempt at my initials but we gave
up after realizing how hard it was.

a "star"
and then she started clipping....
"Racing Stripes"
A baby curl/mowhawk.

Ta-dah!

I really like it!  I think it looks great!  Skott is pleased with it as well.

The most common reactions at work:
"Dude, you look like a total bad ass"
"Wow!  You look bad as hell"
"Man, you look like you could kick someone's butt!"
"Did Jodi let you do that?"
"Did Jodi give you permission to do that?"
"Did you lose a bet?"
"Your eyes really pop!"

hahaha  We work with some funny people.

Rainy Days

We have been SO LUCKY this winter and blessed with lots of sunshine and rain-less days.  So I can't complain.  But today is making up for it in one fail swoop.  It is pouring.
Today I had to venture out into the downpour to pick up essentials like Kleenex, DayQuil, Claritin, and orange juice. Yep, not feeling too good in our house today.  Bummer, since tonight my little sister flies in and tomorrow we are going to see Gabriel Iglesias (the comedian) live in concert.  Here's a link to one of my favorite skits of his: click here   It's totally worth a minute and a half of your life!

I don't know what is going on with people lately but we have had some real winners the last few weeks.  Just add alcohol.  It never ceases to amaze me the things people will say to you, another human being just trying to do your job.  I was called so many horrible things last week, it really made me wonder what the world is coming to.  It was nice to have two days off to hide away at home and not have to deal with ANYONE.

I have started to tackle the mounds and mounds of photos we have that aren't in albums.  I have them all boxed up by date.  So I have started to scan them into the computer and save them on the removable hard drive.  It has been fun!  Lots of laughs!  (and absolute amazement at how far technology has come).

New projects

For the month of February, we have decided to take a break on making items for etsy, and just focus on doing some promoting and advertising.  This is harder than it sounds, especially with our daily walks on the beach and seeing all kinds of cool ideas!

We are finishing up making the doggie wheels for Confuscious.  I am struggling with my end of the bargain -sewing the cushion-y straps.  But I had a !Eureka! moment at work last night and I think I am prepared and armed with a better approach :)

Skott has been busy making our new computer table.  Remember this table he made for our deck in Wisconsin?

Welllllll, lets just say it has been "repurposed" and the results are AMAZING!  I am IN LOVE.

Here is a glimpse at Phase 1:
We have another piece of barnwood that Skott is using to make side tables for the printer, tower, etc.  And he saw an amazing idea for boxes that incorporate the surge protector and hide all those unsightly cords.

We had some friends over for dinner on Wednesday.  We had them bring their bulldog "Bella".  Oh, good times!  Poor Fucie didn't stand a chance, but he did share his toys rather nicely

We have a huge 9-day poker tournament at work, plus a seafood and wine festival, plus presidents day weekend coming up= lots of working overtime and very little time for blogging, or anything else for that matter.  Hope you all have a wonderful and happy week!
